Seamus is a second generation raft guide who started his career in his home state: Maine. He grew up rafting with his family on the Kennebec River, so when he turned 18, it only seemed natural to start working there.
After two summers working on the Kennebec and Penobscot rivers, Seamus moved west to pursue a degree in Adventure Education from Fort Lewis College. While in school he guided on the Arkansas River in Colorado as well as the Lochsa, Salmon and Snake Rivers in Idaho before joining Wet Planet here in Washington. In addition to the White Salmon, Seamus has worked on other Washington rivers including the Skykomish and Wenatchee, near Seattle.
Seamus received his Master’s degree in Education and Outdoor Leadership at Southern Oregon University. He hopes to help educate the next generation of outdoor professionals. He recently spent a winter exploring the whitewater in New Zealand and another winter rafting the Grand Canyon.
Seamus’ hobbies include rafting (of course), kayaking, and backcountry skiing. He is certified as a Wilderness First Responder with CPR, Swiftwater Rescue Technician: Advanced, and Leave No Trace Master Educator. He also oversees much of our guide staff training.
