ABOUT ME

Wet Planet Rafting Decal

Ethan grew up in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. His love of water began early when he was introduced to sailing and wind surfing at the age of 9. When he was 16, he moved to the mountains and started skiing and running rivers, which led to a career in ski patrolling and raft guiding in Colorado. He began guiding in 1996 on the Arkansas River. After spending 6 seasons there, he ventured on to the Taylor River for the following decade, where he met his wife. He has also guided on the Gauley River in West Virginia, the Rio Grande in New Mexico, and has kayaked across the west in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, California, Idaho, and Colorado.

When he’s not on the river, you can find Ethan working as a ski patroller at Crested Butte, or pursuing one of his outdoor passions: windsurfing, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking, bike touring, or teaching his daughter to wind surf and kayak.

At Wet Planet, you can join Ethan on our White SalmonKlickitatWindHood, and Farmlands rafting trips.

What Guests Say About Ethan

“Wet Planet did an amazing job guiding us down the [White Salmon] River. Our guide, Ethan, was patient and very experienced. Initially, I was going to pass on the class V rapid at the end but Ethan made me feel so comfortable that I decided to do it and I am so glad that I did! The team at Wet Planet is very professional and thorough. They take these adventures very serious. We loved every second of it!” – mattgvegasborn (Tripadvisor, 7/26/19)

“Ride every river you can with these folks. Ultimate professionals and just nice people. Had the pleasure of having Ethan as our guide. Found that he and I had been on a quite memorable trip down the Wind River in 2017. Nice to be recognized by him as a ‘mega repeater’ during our initial orientation.” – Darrl M. from Beaverton, OR (Tripadvisor, 9/4/22)
