Lisa grew up in the rolling foothills of South Carolina near the Chattooga River. She spent her childhood hiking and biking through the Appalachian Mountains alongside rivers where she watched kayakers with fascination. She began her love affair with paddling as a teenager and it’s still going strong to this day.
She has taught whitewater kayaking, among other outdoor sports, for outdoor programs in South Carolina, Idaho, Colorado and Tennessee. Most recently, she served as coordinator of outdoor programs and community outreach with REI. Her passion is helping others find a connection to the natural world and other people through outdoor pursuits.
If you are looking for her, you will probably find her on the river, the mountain bike trails, or curled up with a coffee and a good book!
Join Lisa on the river for beginner or advanced kayak instruction this summer! She will also be guiding both half day and full day trips on the White Salmon River, and you can often find her in the office answering any and all questions whitewater related.
