Libby’s love of rivers began at an early age, during family rafting trips around the desert southwest. A native of Salt Lake City, she found her way to the Pacific Northwest for college in Salem, Oregon, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. She also discovered a love for the Northwest’s rivers that has kept her coming back ever since.
Kayaking followed fast on the heels of rafting, and after several summers paddling and guiding in Montana and Wyoming, she was hooked. She has since paddled around much of the western U.S. and has savored opportunities to explore the remarkable rivers and landscapes of Ecuador and Nepal as well. In the off-season, she enjoys skiing, rock climbing and bouldering, backpacking, and traveling (as much as a seasonal worker’s budget will allow!)
