Wet Planet Rafting Decal

Ryan grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and spent his childhood playing team sports and hiking around in the woods. He was first introduced to outdoor adventure sports on a 30-day Outward Bound camp when I was 17. The month long camp included a rafting trip on the Deschutes River, climbing at Smith Rock and backpacking around Bend, Oregon. Once Ryan got home, he quickly started saving up to buy his own climbing gear.

After high school, Ryan moved to Colorado to ski and climb. The next spring he got his EMT cert and moved to California to ski patrol at Kirkwood Mountain. To compliment his winter job, he moved to West Glacier, Montana and spent the summer guiding on the Flathead River. It was in search of better whitewater that Ryan eventually applied to Wet Planet and moved to Hood River.

Ryan just finished his 6th season at Kirkwood and began his 3rd season working on the White Salmon River as a raft guide and support kayaker. Ryan loves the places that rafts and kayaks can take you, especially down into river canyons that you’d never be able to explore any other way. He loves sharing the beauty of the White Salmon and kayaking all the drainages in the Columbia River Gorge.
