ABOUT ME

Wet Planet Rafting Decal

A long-time resident of the Columbia River Gorge, Lisa grew up in upstate New York. She has been an enthusiastic traveler and explorer ever since she had her first taste of adventure on a high school field trip to scuba dive in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. From there she went on to study at the College of the Atlantic (Maine, USA) where she earned her BA in Human Ecology. During this time, her enthusiasm for the environment, sustainability,  and the outdoors grew as she started working, skiing, windsurfing, biking, and traveling extensively around North America.

Lisa joined Wet Planet’s Guest Services Team after spending three decades working for both non-profit and for-profit businesses in the coffee industry, organic farming and fresh produce industries, and youth and community development. Her specialty is working collaboratively to build partnerships, leading mission-based projects, and helping businesses grow and prosper.

Lisa has lived in Lyle, WA for many years, just meters away from the the Klickitat River. She has served on the board of the Klickitat Trail Conservancy and remains active in this non-profit, trail advocacy organization. She also served as Hood River Saturday market manager (2001-2002) as well as membership manager for the Girl Scouts Columbia River Council (2005-2006), where she worked with Girls Scout troops in Hood River, Klickitat, Wasco, Sherman, and Skamania counties.

During her 14-year tenure at an international non-profit, she had the chance to work with coffee growers and producer groups on livelihood development projects in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. While traveling for work she always took time to seek out adventure and outdoor experiences and make meaningful human connections with those she met along the way.

Lisa spends her free time hiking, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding, playing pickleball, and whitewater rafting with Wet Planet. As an aspiring kayaker, she plans to take her first kayak course with Wet Planet this year! Any time spent outdoors is meaningful to Lisa and she loves to see diverse people from all over the globe have the chance to experience the thrill and beauty of whitewater rafting and kayaking, and build confidence in what they can accomplish.
