Rose was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT where she quickly became smitten with rivers and mountains. She went on her first rafting trip at 3 months old and was on skis before she could properly walk. She spent summers doing multi-day river trips with her family in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Idaho and winters skiing in the mountains of Utah.
She later moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend the University of Puget Sound and pursue a BS in Biology and Environmental Policy and Decision Making. While in school, she continued her outdoor pursuits and started whitewater kayaking through the university’s kayak club which she later became the president of, thus enabling her to spread her passion for rivers with everyone she came in contact with. After her freshman year of college, she started working as a multi-day river guide in Idaho on the Main and Lower forks of the Salmon River as well as the Hells Canyon section of the Snake where she learned to row and expanded her passion for the outdoor world. When she isn’t frolicking in raging rivers or snow-filled mountains, Rose loves to sing, play fiddle and ukulele and hopes to attend medical school to pursue a career in emergency medicine.
Rose is a Wilderness EMT and is Swift water Rescue certified.
