Check out the talented crew that are joining the Wet Planet team for 2016!
What a stellar group of people with an impressive professional background of running rivers all over the world and around the United States. We are so excited they are joining the Wet Planet rafting guide team and whitewater kayaking instructor team – and to be out on the river every day with these guys. It will be a very fun and entertaining whitewater season!
Nicole Tunnell – Nicole has years of guiding experience on various rivers including the Forks of the American, the Kaituna River in New Zealand and, most recently, Clear Creek. She has also raced mountain bikes in the past.
Brandalyn Vonk – Brandalyn has years of guiding experience including multi-day trips in Utah, a number of years on the New and the Gauley and, most recently, a few seasons on the Grand Canyon. She also taught English in Vietnam a few years ago and is a professional ski instructor.
Stein Beals – Stein grew up on the Kern river and has guided rafts and taught kayaking there for years. He was also a member of the junior US Slalom Kayak team and finished in the top 15 in the Olympic trials in 2008.
April Agranoff – April started her guiding career on the Kaituna river in New Zealand. Since then she has been guiding on the American river and, most recently, on the Wenatchee and White Salmon. She is also a professional ski instructor.
Ethan Passant – Ethan comes to us with years of experience all over the country including the Arkansas, the Rio Grande, the Gauley. Most recently, he has been guiding on the Taylor River near his home in Crested Butte, CO. He is also a longtime member of the Crested Butte ski patrol and an avid wind surfer.
Carol Lesser – Carol has guided rivers all over the West Coast. She has guided on the Kern, Rogue, Klamath and the Rio Grande. She is also a licensed massage therapist and is working towards her cranio-sacral certification.
Travis Smith – Travis has been guiding on the Rio Grande for four seasons. He is also a ski patroller at Taos Ski Valley and an Eagle Scout!
Calvin Bauer – Calvin comes to us with guiding experience on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. He will also be teaching kayaking part-time.
Jordan started teaching kayaking and guiding rafts in the Pocono Mountains on the Lehigh River. Since then, she has taught for Next Adventure, Alder Creek, and, most recently, World Class Academy in Mexico. She is also a member of Team Pyranha Kayak.
David is joining us from Ireland this season where he has been teaching kayaking and managing an outfitter. He is also into trail running and yoga.
Courtney Zink – Courtney has guided everywhere. I can’t list all of the rivers here, but some of the main ones are the Forks of the American, Tuolomne, Gauley, Pacuare, Clear Creek, Arkansas, and the Merced. She was recently managing an Art Gallery and will be splitting time between working at the base as a marketing coordinator and guiding rafts.
Casey – Casey will be splitting time between base operations and river guiding. She comes with commercial experience from Oregon River Experiences guiding the Clackamas, Deschutes, Rogue and North Santiam rivers.
Karen Marley – Karen will be working as a kayak instructor this season. Many of you may already know her from the local boating scene. She has volunteered with First Descents in the past and has guiding experience on the Wenatchee.
