Join Wet Planet and Friends of the Columbia Gorge on a beautiful spring day of rafting down Washington’s Klickitat River. Friends of the Columbia Gorge, or Friends for short, is the only non-profit organization dedicated entirely to protecting the Columbia Gorge.
Wet Planet Loves Friends of the Columbia Gorge
We love our close relationship with Friends because we are both devoted to promoting responsible stewardship of the Gorge’s lands, air, and waters. Throughout the year, Friends hosts dozens of walks, hikes, tours, events, and a few rafting trips! All of these meetups are aimed at getting Gorge communities more involved, connecting our communities to our land, and educating the public about the unique natural values of the Columbia River Gorge and the importance of preserving those values.
When joining us on one of our full-day Klickitat River rafting trips, we transport you from your daily hustle and bustle into thick pine forests, steep canyons, basalt cliffs, twisted lava formations and old oak woodlands. With continuous class II-III rapids and lots of snow this winter to provide plenty of water to the run, this river trip is a beautiful and fun way to spend a day outside. Check out our new Klickitat River rafting trip video:
Rafting the Klickitat River is Breathtakingly Beautiful
Descending from the snow fields of Mt. Adams and the Goat Rocks Wilderness, the Klickitat River passes through some of the most remote wilderness canyons in the Pacific Northwest. The trip begins with continuous class II–III whitewater action in the dense pine forests, until the canyon broadens to reveal breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. With virtually no access to the Klickitat River canyon other than the put-in and take-out, this is the ideal trip for rafters who want to experience the magic of a pristine wilderness river trip.
