Every year when the weather starts to cool and the gear gets stowed, our team takes a moment to look back on the river miles behind us. Every year, we come away with the same feeling: gratitude. The 2026 season brought big water, bigger smiles, and countless moments of connection—both on the river and at the base. To every guest, guide, kayaker, and driver who shared the water with us this year, thank you. Here is a look back at some of the moments that made this season special.
The White Salmon River
Lower water levels on the White Salmon brought technical lines, an early Husum Falls season, and an incredible crew that knew how to turn every trip into an absolute blast.
Idaho’s Main Salmon River
We were blessed on the Main Salmon River with mostly clear, smoke-free skies, breathtaking views, and deep lifelong connections. A huge highlight was our combined Rowing School & Kayak School 6-day Main Salmon trip—watching rowers gain confidence alongside kayakers styling their lines.
River Rescue
It always impresses our team with how devoted and caring the river community is. Seeing our River Rescue Course (RRC) participants putting in the hard work to keep our community safe is a simple example of how the river community puts each other first. Becoming educated and certified in river rescue is simply for the people you boat with, not yourself. Thank you to all of our prepared and caring boaters for staying prepared for the safety of one another.

Kayak School & Kids Camp
Our Youth Kayak Camp absolutely crushed it this year. Seeing the next generation charge into eddies, build confidence, and fall in love with the river is easily one of our favorite parts of the summer.
First Descents
Hosting our First Descents crew is always a highlight of the year. Their courage, joy, and spirit leave a lasting impact on our entire staff every single time.

A massive shoutout to all the summer camps and partner groups that made Wet Planet their home base for adventure this year!
If you stopped by HQ this summer, you probably noticed the glow-up! Our freshly renovated cafe kept everyone fueled with killer espresso, cold drinks, and good vibes before and after trips.
