The White Salmon River
Difficulty: III-IV | April – September | Half-Day and Full-Day Trips
Both beginners and advanced rafters consistently have a blast on the White Salmon. The White Salmon River runs through what used to be a lava tube and is now a beautiful basalt canyon. The non-stop action keeps your adrenaline pumping until the river finally opens up into a sunny, forested valley. The Klickitat, tucked deep into the Washington wilderness, features twisted lava formations, basalt cliffs, and steep canyon topped with non-stop class II and II rapids, making for a fun and beautiful river trip. Part of the White Salmon River, The Farmlands includes nonstop class IV and V rapids. Scheduled dam releases every September means the Tieton never disappoints. Additionally, the water released from the dam is warm, which is great as the temperatures start to drop in September. Class III+ rollercoaster rapids provide the ultimate way to enjoy the best of Washington and Oregon white water rafting.
