ABOUT ME
Joshua was born in the Netherlands and has lived throughout the western United States, including California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. During his time in Colorado, he sharpened his eye. He quickly realized how differently landscapes translate through a lens. It was in contrast to that experience that he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, drawn to its depth of color and layered light that never feels one dimensional on camera.
Before finding photography and videography, he experimented with music, drawing, and even dance, searching for a medium that could capture the world as he interprets it. The camera became that medium, giving structure to his creativity and a language for the way he sees.
During his time in Colorado, Joshua also worked for the City of Steamboat Springs driving a transit bus through a ski resort in winter conditions. Learning commercial driving in mountain snow demanded focus and calmness. The experience strengthened his confidence under pressure, as well as the ability to drive buses and trucks!
Outside of his work, Joshua spends his time trail running, playing pickleball and basketball, performing music, and exploring the outdoors with his wife and their two dogs. He is most at home in nature, and in the process of creating.
