ABOUT ME

Wet Planet Rafting Decal

Ryan grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and spent his childhood playing team sports and hiking around in the woods. He was first introduced to outdoor adventure sports on a 30-day Outward Bound camp when he was 17. The month long camp included a rafting trip on the Deschutes River, climbing at Smith Rock and backpacking around Bend, Oregon. Once Ryan got home, he quickly started saving up to buy his own climbing gear.

After high school, Ryan moved to Colorado to ski and climb. The next spring he got his EMT certification and moved to California to ski patrol at Kirkwood Mountain. To compliment his winter job, he moved to West Glacier, Montana and spent the summer guiding on the Flathead River. It was in search of better whitewater that Ryan eventually applied to Wet Planet and moved to Hood River.

Ryan is currently one of our Trip Leaders.

My partner and I had a fantastic time on the rafting trip down White Salmon River (half day) today.  It was challenging, exhilarating and so fun. Our guide was Ryan and he was stellar! His calm demeanor, expertise, and consistent motivation was very appreciated. Highly recommend! – Megan F. (Google)
