ABOUT ME
Growing up in the Gorge, Britney spent her early years hiking, riding dirt bikes, hunting, and foraging in the lush forests while also playing on the Klickitat, White Salmon, and Columbia Rivers. In 2013, she moved to Bozeman, MT, to attend Montana State University. During her undergrad, she learned about Wild Rockies Field Institute – a non-profit organization offering place-based field courses for college credit. After two months of kayaking and backpacking around Montana, Britney found her passion for outdoor education!
Following her WRFI course, Britney started working as a volunteer with Montana Outdoor Science School and quickly became an instructor. After teaching for two years, she became the Program Director and immersed herself in the non-profit and outdoor ed worlds. Britney also completed her M.A. at Montana State University, where she studied the history of the American West, focusing on hunting and conservation in Montana. During her free time, she could be found on many of Montana’s glorious rivers, backpacking deep into the wilderness, or frolicking in the valley’s fields with a group of friends and doggos.
After spending ten years in Montana, Britney feels an overwhelming sense of excitement, happiness, and love to return to her roots in the PNW. She’s stoked to learn to whitewater kayak, explore more rivers, and meet new pals! Britney loves to see the goofy side of life and always finds space for curiosity and giggles. Hikes sometimes take a little longer with her because she often gets distracted by remarkable rocks, beautiful birds, and fascinating flora!
At Wet Planet, Britney is the HR Coordinator and a Reservations Specialist, and you can find her greeting you before your trip, running shuttles, and listening to your rad river stories!
