Here’s a photo story of our August 1st 6-Day Main Salmon River Rafting Adventure through Idaho’s Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness! Enjoy!

Todd pointing out the petroglyphs

On the first day, we stopped to see some petroglyphs!

This is a great shot of them from one of our previous trips!

The trip was full of delicious food! Including this bruschetta, but we also had amazing dishes like chicken tikka masala, this beet and sweet potato hash with kale, and some great desserts like cheesecake and pineapple upside-down cake (below).

Here, the group is enjoying the hot springs, which one of our experienced guides, Deanna, calls the best riverside hot spring she’s ever been in.

There’s plenty of time to have fun in the sun and this trip was no different.

A little Bananagrams in the shade is just what the doctor ordered after a sunny day on the river.

Several historic spots along the way make for great short hikes to see past and present homesteads, like Jim Moore’s Place dating back to 1898.

Here’s Buckskin Bill’s defense tower. One of the “last of the mountain men”, Buckskin Bill fought and beat the U.S. Forest Service on his right to live on his land once it was designated as a protected territory. His tower was his defense against intruders’ attempts to force him off his land. Buckskin Bill is buried on his property where there is a museum about his life on the river’s edge.

The crew saw a whole bunch of wildlife, including deer in camp, a bear, bighorn sheep, and eagles.

Main Salmon Eagle

We didn’t get any shots of our eagle sightings on this trip, but this is a photo from one of last year’s trips!

There’s nothing like family time on the river.
