Sheri grew up just north of San Francisco, California. She spent the first few years out of school on an extended road trip that wound up in Alaska where she stumbled onto a shuttle driver job for a river company out of Anchorage. After a couple weeks, she went out on her first river trip and found a passion that has gotten her through life. She started whitewater guiding and pushed off the shore rowing one stroke ahead of ‘growing up’.
The water has carried her all over the world, from the jungles of Costa Rica to the beaches of Belize to the gorge of the Zambezi in Africa. Moab, Utah has been home base and Sheri guided the big water runs of Cataract and the Grand Canyon for almost three decades – where does the time go? Although she has hung up her guide paddle, she has never hung up her love for everything ‘boat’ and you will still find her out on the water in anything that floats.
The water has now brought her to the Pacific NW and the Wet Planet family where she will be joining us as part of our behind the scene support crew. While no longer guiding the boat, she still loves to share her passion and get people on the river to experience the wonders that only happen on the water. And after she checks you in at the front desk you might just pass her putting in her kayak for a quick river run!
