Natalie grew up in Sarasota, Florida – land of white sandy beaches and sea water. She started her whitewater career the summer after graduating from Florida State University. At the time it was meant to be a short term adventure, but the pull of the river and the magic of the whitewater community has kept her coming back summer after summer.
She spent her first two seasons guiding in Tennessee on the Ocoee River. After meeting several rad western boaters, she was convinced to move to the Arkansas river in Buena Vista, CO. After two exceedingly fun summers in Colorado, the travel bug kicked in again and the rivers urged her westward. She landed on the American River in Coloma, CA. She has spent the last two summers working as a photo boater and raft guide on the American, both capturing and creating memories, an opportunity she has thoroughly enjoyed.
Between summers filled with whitewater, Natalie has spent 5 winters snowboarding in Telluride, Colorado. In 2016 she decided to make her whitewater career a more permanent role and has been chasing summer since. She has spent this past winter (summer) living in New Zealand experiencing all that the country has to offer.
Natalie enjoys any high intensity gravity fueled activity: surfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, and of course, kayaking. When she isn’t testing the limits of gravity she enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, making costumes, or settling in with a good book. When she isn’t on the river, she is probably dreaming about it.
Natalie will be joining the Wet planet team this year. She is excited to get to know the Pacific Northwest and create some lasting whitewater memories for Wet Planet guests and herself alike!
