Melissa was born and raised in sunny Florida her entire life. She has never seen anything beyond its flatlands. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, Melissa was determined to chart new territories and challenge her comfort zone. She knew that in the discomfort of uncertainty she would reap the biggest rewards. She almost felt bad about leaving Florida without her hair and eyeballs to catch them by the millions, the gnat population was sure to grow quadruple in size.
Not sure of what to expect, Melissa packed her bags and made her first stop in South Eastern New York, where she backpacked the Catskill Mountains. She completed 11 of the 35 peaks and will go back someday to finish them all.
Her next stop was Colorado, a place where she became mesmerized by the opportunity to experience snow fall for the first time and the huge difference in temperatures. Not only was snow exciting but she was able to assist in developing and growing a new business. She also worked side by side the largest husky kennel in North America, all the while gaining experience and mastering her skills at dog sledding.
These experiences have fueled a big interest within Melissa to venture into new roles. Now all directions lead her to the Pacific North West where she will become a part of the Wet Planet family.
