Self-described “outdoors / life enthusiast,” Megan is at her happiest when she is playing outside. Growing up in the Southeast, she spent her free time exploring the woods and creeks of her backyard and making the drive to the Blue Ridge Mountains whenever possible. At the University of South Carolina, Megan immersed herself into the outdoors more than ever by working and leading trips with the Mountaineering and Whitewater Club and USC Outdoor Recreation. In the summer of her junior year, she became a raft guide at the U.S. National Whitewater Center and was introduced to the humbling and awe-inspiring world of whitewater. After learning how to kayak, she was truly hooked and knew this was a passion that would shape the rest of her life.
Upon graduation with a dual business degree, various marketing experience, and no shortage of half-baked soul dreams, Megan left the realm of “y’all” and sweet tea to move to beautiful White Salmon and share her love of whitewater with the PNW by working on Wet Planet’s marketing team. She wakes up smiling every day to be working at an outfitter she has admired since her rookie guiding season, and she can’t wait to better her whitewater skills on the legendary rivers in and around the Columbia River Gorge.
If not paddling, marketing paddling, or thinking about paddling, you can find Megan petting stranger’s dogs, exploring the joys of “neature” by foot, crag, bike, skis (really anything that allows for time outside), or eating something with melted cheese or peanut butter. Bonus points if you will sing/dance (terribly but shamelessly) with her!
