Leah’s world changed in 2012 when she was introduced to whitewater and the Wet Planet family. Four rafting trips and two kayaking lessons later, she decided to make the Portland commute to the Gorge a permanent move. She credits this life change, not only to the beautiful rivers and natural scenery, but to Wet Planet’s inspiring people and culture as well. Since then, Leah has completed guide school, kayaked the Lower Salmon, and spent 26 days rafting through the Grand Canyon, amongst many other daily adventures with her beloved Wet Planet crew. She is extremely excited and motivated to help others experience the magic of rivers!
This change has made all the difference in Leah’s life. Happier than she’s ever been, she is particularly grateful for being introduced to such positive, quality people and the magic of multi-day river trips. Both Wet Planet and the Columbia River Gorge are helping and inspiring Leah to become the person she hopes to be!
Besides getting on the river, Leah also loves to travel, especially going abroad. Her longest trip was a 4 month independent trek around the world in 2005, hopping continents solo. Other favorite pastimes include reading, working out and yoga, hiking, baking cookies, savoring endless cups of tea, and being our resident trivia queen. She also loves spending quality time with the people she adores.
