Mountains are the love of Kathie’s life, whether it’s hiking up them or riding down (hopefully in champagne powder). Rivers are next in line with whitewater excursions holding a special place in her heart. Sharing these adventures with others through a visual medium seems to be what sparks Kathie’s passion.
Originally, Kathie came from the Hoosier state. At age 19 she moved to West Virginia to learn to kayak, and ended up discovering a whole new way of life. Since then, she has moved every six months in an effort to explore as many new wild places as she can, calling her Jeep Cherokee home.
Through her travels, Kathie has made it a point to find new and exciting career opportunities. Some of her past experiences include: acting as cinematographer for multiple documentaries revolving around east-central Indiana, video-boating on the New River in West Virginia, serving as a trail crew member in the south-western states and Puerto Rico, and providing on-mountain and on-river photography in Colorado.
It’s Kathie’s hope to encourage the use, conservation, and enjoyment of these wild places through photography, while having some great adventures along the way. She is excited for her next adventure in the Pacific Northwest as part of the Wet Planet team. Be sure to keep an eye out for her on the river bank, capturing some epic whitewater moments!
