Jonathan grew up on the California coast and in the mountains of Maine. During his early years he spent his time riding bikes, skateboards, snowboards, and surfing.
Jonathan attended Fort Lewis College in southwest Colorado. He graduated with a degree in Political Science and Philosophy. During his college years he developed a profound passion for water by running rivers. He took his degree and his love of rivers back to Maine where he pursued a career building custom timber framed homes, guiding rafts on the Penobscot River, and relaxed by whitewater kayaking close to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
After traveling across the country as a timber framer, Jonathan began to look for a place to call home. He moved to the Columbia Gorge in the summer of 2017 and is now pursuing a career as a high school wood shop teacher, and also works in Special Education at the The Dalles High School. When he’s not at work, you will find him hiking with his dog, practicing yoga, rock climbing, building projects out of wood, biking, making ceramics, kayaking, and rafting.
