Haley hails from Pennsylvania, and began river running as a toddler. Her first exposure to whitewater consisted of canoeing and camping on the Delaware River with her family. They also took trips down to North Carolina to raft the rivers of the southeast, as well as making the journey to explore whitewater in other states and Canada. Haley became entranced by rivers, and learned to love reading the water and being in it…she always tells people that she feels ‘normal’ again once she puts on her river gear. Haley came to Wet Planet in 2018, after guiding on the Lehigh River for the 5 years. During the winters she works as an environmental and outdoor educator in Alabama and California, or shredding the slopes up at Mt. Hood Meadows. She’s also had the opportunity to travel to Chile on multiple occasions, first as a student with Patagonia Study Abroad, and then more recently to work for the Pucon Kayak Hostel as an artist, guide, kayak camp coach, and all-around-organizer-upkeeper-of-tidyness.
When not on the water, Haley enjoys yoga and mountain biking, making smoothies, nerding out over weird biology facts, ornithology, and attempting to be good at Spanish and guitar.
