Growing up in sunny south Florida, Deanna loved the outdoors: sailing, scuba diving, frisbeeing, etc. When she got tired of climbing gyms and the traffic in South Florida, she moved to South Carolina to become a raft guide. A good friend lent her a life jacket and a throw bag and sent her on her way to the Chattooga River, where her whitewater passion began. Deanna worked as a whitewater professional on the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River for 2 years, as well as some other rivers in the southeast before she moved to Colorado to guide on Clear Creek and the Upper Colorado River.
Deanna came to Wet Planet in the summer of 2012 to start guiding the White Salmon River. Deanna loves the Gorge because of its beauty and everything it has to offer. During the winter, she works at ski resorts or goes back to Florida to instruct sailing and work ropes courses. Deanna loves traveling and takes many multi-day trips, whether they be on the river, sailing, hiking or just camping. Go find your adventure. See you on the river!
Deanna guides day trips on the White Salmon, Klickitat, and Tieton Rivers. She also guides multi-day adventures such as the 6-day Main Salmon River trips in Idaho, and the 5-day Owyhee River trip in Oregon. She is a Wilderness First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue certified.
