If you hear exclamations about cool plants, Mikayla is probably nearby.
Originally from Spokane, Mikayla moved to Florida at a young age. Replacing mountains and rivers with horses, Mikayla jumped throughout her youth, eventually attending Florida State University and competing with the FSU Equestrian Team. Tired of the hot, Florida summers and missing the mountains, Mikayla began working as a guide on the Nantahala River in North Carolina. For the next 5 seasons, Mikayla worked and played on various rivers in the Southeast including the French Broad, Nolichucky, Ocoee, Chattooga and Cheoah Rivers.
After graduating with degrees in International Affairs and Geography, Mikayla moved to North Carolina full-time finding work in marketing throughout the winter season. After realizing all the leaves disappeared in the winter, Mikayla began moving West working in the Alta Ski Area in Utah. She is now excited to be back home in the Pacific Northwest.
In her off time, Mikayla can be found searching for taller trees and bigger falls, finding the best trail running spots and attempting to remember how to kayak after canoeing for the past 3 years.
