Josh’s interest in rivers began during his childhood while canoeing on the Ozark streams of his home state of Missouri. He was introduced to whitewater on a family raft trip on the New River in West Virginia. After graduating from Iowa State University, Josh headed for the mountains, starting his raft guiding career on the Arkansas River in Colorado. Josh decided to move to the Northwest after five years in Colorado, ending up in Hood River and guiding rafts for Wet Planet in 2010. Josh enjoys taking advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation the Gorge has to offer, especially kayaking, snowboarding, and mountain biking.
