Hope was first introduced to Wet Planet when Todd and Jaco were just starting this wonderful adventure. She was lucky enough to be taken on her first rafting trip with Wet Planet at the ripe age of eight. Four years later, Wet Planet did their first Kid’s Kayak Camp, and Hope was one of the pioneers of that program. She was twelve at the time, and continued to come out to Wet Planet each summer to visit and kayak for a week or two. She was fortunate enough to join some of the Wet Planet crew on a trip down the Middle Fork in the summer of 2015; an experience that definitely changed her life. Wet Planet has always felt like a home away from home to Hope, and the she attributes the positive experiences she’s had here to helped shape the person she is today.
While Hope was originally from New Jersey, it was because of her time at Wet Planet that she knew she belonged in an environment like it. When she visited the University of Vermont during her senior year of high school, Hope fell in love with the similar landscape and attitude. She is now a graduating senior, and ready to embark on the journey that will be the rest of her life – starting at Wet Planet!
She loves dancing, singing, hiking, skiing, reading, writing, drinking good coffee and eating yummy food. She was also fortunate enough to study abroad in Ireland for a semester, where Hope fell in love with traveling. She is very excited to be back on the river paddling again this summer!
