David Wells grew up in the great state of Maine. He has always been a friend of the water. After swimming competitively for most of his life, David decided to take his adventures out of the pool and into the river.
David started his whitewater career as video boater on the Kennebec, the Dead and the West Branch of the Penobscot. His passion for whitewater and travel quickly led him to work in Uganda where he paddled the Bujagali Falls section shortly before the construction of Bujagali Dam.
Since graduating from Bowdoin College, David has moved with the seasons working in the outdoor industry as an outdoor educator, a guide for rafting, kayaking, hiking and snowmobiling.
David recently returned from Uganda after spending a year working with Kayak the Nile. David has also worked as a lobsterman and loves talking about all things Maine!
