Dave is a Native Oregonian born and raised in the Willamette Valley. From family camping on the Metolious to Snake River fishing trips, he has always loved being outdoors. Dave loves being out backpacking, fishing and of course, going on a good road trip. His interest in exploring rivers began while growing up near the Molalla, Santiam and Clackamas Rivers where he spent most of his adolescent years snorkeling, swimming, rafting, fishing and camping. Some of Dave’s rafting highlights were rafting the Nenana River just outside Denali National park, trips down the Cal Salmon and a trip down the White Salmon with Wet Planet a few years back. Dave is also known to be a jack of all trades. His career history has involved hoof trimming cattle (yes this is actually a thing), to working on a 200 ton crane traveling the west coast and helping lift really heavy things. Dave has also had the opportunity to manage and grow some of the Willamette Valley’s delicious Pinot Noir. Recently, Dave and his wife were able to reach their goal of fleeing the rat race and getting back to living the simple life. With that came a recent move to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. During the winter Dave works at Mt Hood Meadows and had a great season. He is thrilled to be joining the Wet Planet crew and enjoying everything summer has to bring. You can find him shuttling customers up and down the river this summer, working around the base, and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.
