Cassidy has been on the river since she could fit in a PFD. Her parents met on the American River in California in the 80’s and have made sure to keep their rafting closet and trip itinerary full ever since. Based out of Lake Tahoe, California, Cassidy’s youth was full of outdoor adventures. Family vacations included trips down the Middle and Main Salmon, the Rogue, the Snake, the American, the Grand Canyon, the Yellowstone, and the Gallatin.
Cassidy left Tahoe to attend college in San Diego, where she received her EMT certification and fostered her passion for whitewater, now on her own terms. She learned to guide in the Southeast, excited to see a new part of the country and experience unfamiliar whitewater. Cassidy continued rafting throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Georgia, and worked on the Chattooga Section IV in Georgia for a few years, building her guiding and rope rescue skills.
After graduating college, Cassidy set out to explore and guide in the Northwest, where she found her place with the Wet Planet team. Cassidy is captivated by the Northwest, which she explores on foot, hiking or backpacking, when she’s not on the river, rafting or kayaking.
Cassidy spends her winters working as a ski patroller at Sierra at Tahoe and has joined the El Dorado County Search and Rescue Technical Ropes Team and Mountaineering team. She plans to keep her passion for whitewater alive and enjoy the river whenever possible. Cassidy also hopes to use her degree in Physics to make a difference in our beautiful world through environmental conservation and technology.
