Casey grew up in rural Central Oregon where she spent most of her time exploring the outdoors by foot and horseback. She was introduced to multi-day rafting trips by friends her senior year of high school and quickly fell in love with whitewater. Training horses and raft guiding on rivers throughout Oregon supported her college hobby, where she studied journalism and dabbled in environmental studies.
After a move to Portland, she surrendered her idea of becoming a world famous horse trainer to further pursue her passion turned obsession with whitewater. Impressed with her experience taking a kayaking lesson at Wet Planet and the beautiful White Salmon River, she decided a year later to make the move to the Columbia River Gorge and join the Wet Planet family.
Casey will be splitting time between base operations and river guiding. She comes with commercial experience from Oregon River Experiences guiding the Clackamas, Deschutes, Rogue and North Santiam rivers.
